Give Back to the Community

Every year, Lowell Women’s Week gives back to our community through donations for a local organization. This year, we are collecting Breakfast Food for The Merrimack Valley Food Bank. The food bank is requesting the following items: Peanut Butter & Jelly, Cereal & Oatmeal, Fruit & Vegetable & juice, Coffee & Tea, Cooking Oil, Sugar & Sweetener, Pancake mix, and Shelf Stable Milk. All items should be shelf stable in plastic or cans. NO GLASS PLEASE! The focus of the Merrimack Valley Food Bank is to help meet a person’s most profound need — adequate nutrition and freedom from hunger. Only through cooperative efforts can society initiate change and develop strategies to alleviate hunger and work toward the wellbeing of all people. It is a basic human need to have adequate access to an environment conducive to well-being, which includes food, shelter and clothing. For most of us, food is readily available at nearby stores. The ease with which food can be acquired can make us take for granted how vital food is to our well-being. Lowell Women’s Week is collecting breakfast foods to help combat the need for adequate nutrition and support the freedom from hunger. If you would like to help in our efforts to give back to our community, please bring these items with you to the breakfast on March 25th or collect these items at your workplace and contact Sheri Denk on how your organization can contribute.
